Sharing Documents

Causeway makes it easy to share documents between groups and committees. To set up various sharing options, click on the document within the Documents repository to be taken to the Document Details page. Once on the Document Details page (screenshot below), click on the [edit shares] link on the left side of the page.

Edit Shares

Once on the Edit Shares screen, you can select varying levels of sharing with other groups within your Causeway site. The levels of permissions are:

  • Read: choosing this option means the workgroup you have shared a document with can only view and download the document.
  • Write: choosing this option means the workgroup you have shared a document with can view, download, and upload new versions of the document. 
  • Admin: choosing this option means the workgroup you have shared a document has full administrative rights to the document, including the ability to delete it.

After you have selected the sharing permissions you'd like for each group, click on the Share button on the bottom of the screen. The document will then appear in the Documents repository for the groups you have shared it with.
